Go see Us.

Kinja'd!!!

That was the most I’ve enjoyed a horror film since It Follows.

I’ m bumping this, since the original post was at 2:30 in the morning. Seriously, go see this, it’s great.

Oooh, high praise. It Follows was great .

Apparently, they had the same cinematographer, which is probably why I kept thinking about It Follows while watching it.

I freaking loved that music choice in the trailer.

Similarly, “Get Out” was the most enjoyable thriller I’ve seen since (and exceeding) “It Follows.” I was sold on this movie months ago when the trailer came out.

H-E-Double-Hockey- Sticks NO! I can't even watch the trailer without getting nightmares.  I really wanted to see Get Out, but I just can't do horror movies.  Yes, I'm a scaredy pants.

The trailer for US freaked me out too. However, Get Out is more of a thriller than a horror movie, with very little gore.

Oh man, I knew it was going to be good, but the trailer severely freaked me out.

* Spoilers-ish, but not plot related*

Just skip if you’re going to see it otherwise.

I have zero tolerance for slasher films. It’s not really that gory, so much as it keeps an almost constant level of dread and unease once it gets going. It was very similar to It Follows in that there was only one scene where I was like “fuck this, I’m out.”  It’s similar to It Follows and The Witch in that it avoids being perversely gory.

Without any major spoilers, but still a spoiler:

It’s used as a getaway car, and I distinctly thought to myself “I cannot imagine a worse choice of car when you’re trying to drive far far away.”

The family also owns a late-model E-Class wagon.

An E-Class wagon? Is this based on the life of Doug DeMuro?

It’s really hard for me to resist spoiling anything about this film, but I don’t want to spoil even minor details, since it was just so fun

I read today that this is an oscar-level movie. It is horror, so it will never get one though.

Without spoilers, Nyong’o gave one of the best performances I’ve seen recently. I guarantee you she gets at least a nomination.

I want to see it, but Mrs. addiction is a hard “no way”.

She don’t like scary movies.
